Summer Camp!

I have not added a new blog post in a while because I've been at summer camp! Ya that's right. Well, actually we live at summer camp. My husband Bill and I are Resident Managers of Park of the Pines which is a camp owned by Community of Christ. It is open year round and hosts many events from weddings to leadership training but the thing I look forward to most is summer youth camps! The "Park" hosts Junior, Junior High, and Senior High camps. All camps are planned and staffed by volunteers who have agreed to lots of training and background checks. These folks do it because the believe it is important and because they LOVE it!

I get to be involved with each camp to various degrees but the one thing I do at all camps is take photos.

Senior High Camp had a color run that was way cool to photograph. The kids and staff all had a great time and of course ended up in the Lake at the end of the day.

PS: Can you tell that the best friends are made at camp!

When campers reach Junior High they get the option to take kayak class. Park of the Pines is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Charlevoix. This year we had some glorious sunny days and the lake just sparkled.

Campers become more confident when they try new things like kayaking at camp.

Junior Camp is non-stop-fun!

Junior Camp is a five day camp instead of a week long camp. It is non stop fun from swimming, to root beer float party, to water bounce house party the kids are having a ball every minute.

Campers arrive nervous skeptical and head home crying because they don't want to leave their new friends and the camp they love.

I am so lucky to be a part of all of this!!!
